Outline the distribution of marketing Thor 2.

The film Thor 2: The Dark World has been distributed in many ways such as trailers, short advertise between T.V breaks and premiere which was held in London Leicester square.  Many companies had sponsored Thor 2 such as Disney and Marvel. This helped the film gain more popularity, as both companies are worldwide known; this also gave an influx of different audience. Alan Taylor who is well known and is a very successful film director directed the film. Also Thor was part of the film The Avengers that also gave him that extra popularity in order to gain more of an audience.

There are many YouTube trailers of the film; the firs trailer was published in April 2013, which had received outstanding number of views.  There were many companies which had advertises the film. Another element of distribution and marketing is advertising. Thor: The Dark World has been advertised on YouTube trailers, billboards and Premieres. Facebook and Twitter fan pages have also been made which Thor 2 stuff was posted.

As the casts are all seen as famous actors, this then allowed fans of each character to gain more interest, as they’re all fans of the character. The film was marketed in many ways such as comic books, film props (hammer, helmets and costume), snap backs, figurines and posters.  Thor: The Dark World has earned over $200 million profit, the marketing of the film may have helped it raise so much money as people would had bought miscellaneous items and other props from the film. Many items were sold for a high price for $24.99 for a Thor Hammer prop, there are many other items which had gone for high prices which all had an impact of the influx of the profit.

Thor has been described as a ‘CGI’ product by Peter Bradshaw, “Thor is not just a movie, it is much more than that, it has probably been described as a “product” because a lot more has come from it than just cinema views. For example as I started before, the Disney attraction which is huge, there are also characters figurines, an imitation of a Thor Hammer and costume.
